Kennedy Center Told to Remove Trump's Name by June 12

Kennedy Center Told To Remove TrumpIn a shocking turn of events, lawyers for the Kennedy Center have instructed employees to remove President Donald Trump's name from signs and materials bearing his title. The deadline for this drastic change is set for June 12, just two days before Trump's birthday.

Judge Orders Removal of Trump's Name
A U.S. District Judge, Christopher Cooper, made the initial decision on May 29, stating that Trump's name was added illegally to the institution. The judge argued that the 1964 federal law creating the center specified that it must be named for and honor President Kennedy alone.

Trump's Board of Trustees' Vote Challenged
The judge also overturned Trump's planned two-year closure of the Kennedy Center in July to begin major renovations. The counsel for the Kennedy Center claimed that the ruling wasn't declaring the closure illegal, but rather felt the vote to close was 'inappropriate and that any subsequent vote must take more information into account.'

Kennedy Center's Response
In a statement, the Kennedy Center's Vice President of Public Relations, Roma Daravi, said they are complying with the court's order while evaluating all legal options to preserve this revitalization and recognize President Trump's leadership.

This latest development marks another setback for Trump, who has faced criticism and controversy throughout his presidency. The Kennedy Center's decision to remove Trump's name is a significant step towards restoring the institution's original purpose and honoring its namesake, President Kennedy.
